What is NAMI?

NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the largest grassroots organization for people with mental illness and their families. Founded in 1979, NAMI has affiliates in every state and in the larger cities across the country.

What is the NAMI Mission?

NAMI is dedicated to improving quality of life for individuals with mental illness, their families and communities. Our mission is accomplished through mutual support, education and advocacy.

What are the benefits of NAMI Membership?
All NAMI members receive these benefits:

  • • A subscription to the Advocate, NAMI's quarterly magazine, as well as access to optional subscriptions to specialty newsletters and information at the national, state and local levels.
